It all started for Halloween. My two youngest had some pretty strong ideas of what they wanted to be for Halloween. Gone were the princesses, ballerinas, and fairies. They gravitated towards strong female characters.
My 5 year old went as Rey from Star Wars.
My 8 year old had found a new fascination with Dana Scully from the X-files.. So that is who she went as.
To round out the crew, I went as “Rosie the Riveter”
So, with Valentine’s Day on the radar. I was on on the look out for something fun to create with the girls. Turns out a a few weeks ago, the stomach virus hit our house in full force. The girls were home for D.A.Y.S. On the last day, when they were home “sick” but not “sick” any more but not yet well enough to fit into the “return to school” definition of wellness.
I got an idea. I had recently gotten a huge roll of yellow butcher paper for something else, but i had quite a lot of it left over.. and I had two willing subjects and lots of time– so we went about creating their Valentine Images and THIS is how it ended.
and then when we added in the lollipops.. they looked like this!
